Week 4 took the u9s on a different route to Gormanstown but we got there!
2 very excited boys in the car were timing how long it would take to get there on their ticker tocker aka watch ๐
11 boys donned the DonaghmoreAshbourne jerseys ready to take on whatever would be thrown at them.
This week we met Trinity Gaels in our first match and St. Brigidโs in the second match.
The boys sprang into action at the first whistle and filled every inch of the hall hunting the ball down, blocking and some great challenges for possession. Some great displays of ground striking and pulling on the ball improving each week with growing confidence in their new surroundings.
The second match proved more of a challenge with a much tougher team. Some very physical challenges knocked a few of the boys but they picked themselves up and battled on like true winners.
To say that the 3 mentors that were with them today are so proud of them is an understatement.
Every week these boys grow in confidence while meeting up with their teammates and having pre and post match chats with topics ranging from birthday parties, Nintendo games, lunches they donโt like at school and comparisons of what time do you go to bed at ๐.
Next week sees the end of this indoor league for 2020. So 2 more matches to go and then a presentation of medals and certs as a memory for the boys.
See you all next week
