When Fingallians of swords and Maynooth gaa came calling the U8 boys of donaghmore ashbourne ventured onto Dublin soil in the grounds of Fingallians for their first blitz of 2020

With a crisp feel to the morning and a calmness in the air before the impending storm 3 strong eager teams from Donaghmore Ashbourne came in to hear their final instructions.

Warm up done. Minds ready. Hurls gripped and in position.

The whistles sound and it's game on.

With local knowledge key our lads had the Sun, wind, slope and Dublin tactics trying to discombobulate them but to no avail. Our Dublin counterparts knew they had a game on their hands.

With 2 rounds of both hurling and football today, this fab bunch of players showed teamwork in abundance, fierce blocking, sublime kick passing and catching. Points scored from both feet, slick passing moves and sideline cuts you name it we had it.

With all the mentors very proud and happier than Larry could ever be the final hooter sounded to bring an end to a great blitz and with fresh cookies to treat the well deserving lads.

The talk is no longer about splitting Dublin it's about splitting this team such was the display today.

A big thanks to Fingallians today for a great morning.

As the dust settled

A rainbow appeared in the distance and whispers of a pot of gold at the end but that's nothing compared to this family of U8 boys.
