Following significant changes in the governments position on the outbreak, the GAA, Camogie and LGFA announced yesterday that all their sporting activities for all ages cease immediately until 29th March at the very earliest.
To coincide with this our executive has met and decided some measures to take.
Gym
The gym will remain closed until further notice
Pitches
Our main club pitches are closed for all activities including individuals training on their own. We ask all members to respect this and not to risk offense by requesting and being refused. Individuals on our club pitches will be asked to leave whether members or not.
Lotto
It is planned to keep the lotto draw on Sunday night, further updates will follow with format. Lotto Sellers will not be in bars on Saturday nights for the duration of the outbreak, our Lotto update will contain more information.
Club Bar
Our club bar will remain open in line with governments recommendations regarding capacity on indoor numbers. The health and safety or our members and the bar customers is our main priority,
so functions will be reviewed on a case by case basis. We ask people who attend the bar to respect others space and not to move furniture. We will be monitoring number capacity.
St Patricks day
Live music and food is cancelled on St Patricks day in the club, further updates on St Patricks day will follow.
Please take time to think of the vulnerable in our community.
If you can in any way help, feel it as your civic duty to do so. It may be something as simple as getting the shopping or walking the dog for an elderly neighbour who does not feel safe being outside.
A great trait of the Irish Nation is how we respond in a time of need. Keep yourself safe, be kind and look out for each other.
The ongoing situation is dynamic and may change from day to day. We will keep you updated over the coming days through this media channel as and when we have information. Please contact the club on phone during business hours or reach out on the clubs facebook page for more information if you have any questions regarding the club during the outbreak.
Regards,
Donaghmore/Ashbourne GAA executive.
