We hope all are well as we navigate the phases of exiting the lockdown. Even though we may want to organise training in Phase 1, as all insurance and injury funds are suspended until July 20th, all club activities including any organised training will remain cancelled until that date. Should an individual sustain an injury and incur medical costs while taking part in an on-line training session or an individual training program, the individual will be personally responsible for all such costs.

Return to Train & Return to Play protocols are currently being drawn up by the GAA Covid-19 Advisory group and will be circulated when completed and agreed in June. In the meantime we are urging all members to stay vigilant and to stay safe. Central to every decision made is the health and safety of our members and their families.

The GAA have launched a national coaching survey which will assess the needs of all our coaches across all codes, there's some nice prizes up for grabs so click the link and fill in the form.

Our volunteers are still assisting in the community making near daily deliveries from Supervalu and Centra helping the most vulnerable in the community. A survey of approximately 1,600 GAA clubs across the country by the Association’s Community and Health Department published earlier this month found that 19,164 GAA volunteers directly supported 34,571 people in a variety of ways.

The Dermot Early Youth Leadership Initiative, a tribute to Dermot’s lifetime of sporting and professional achievements and his commitment to community service, is brought to life through a partnership between GAA, Foróige, and NUI Galway. The programme empowers young people aged 15-18 to enhance their leadership capabilities to better enable them to reach their full potential and have a positive impact on the world around them. A mental health course which aims to improve the literacy of coaches and club members has been launched by the Gaelic Games Community so that coaches can feel more confident in promoting and supporting young people’s mental health within the breadth of their coaching role. Jigsaw are thrilled to partner with The GAA to bring One Good Coach™ to the GAA, LGFA and Camogie community.
