HT Moynalvey 1-3 Don/Ash 0-7
FT Moynalvey 1-7 Don/Ash 1-14
Donaghmore Ashbourne started off well and had 3 points on the board from Andrew Tormey, Stephen Carton (free) and Daragh McGovern before Moynalvey got their first point from a free after 10 minutes. There were a lot of wides from both teams and a mistake while Don/Ash were pushing forward gifted Moynalvey with the ball which ended up in the back of the net seconds later. Don/Ash did have goal chances themselves but for the good goalkeeping from the Moynalvey keeper. Moynalvey went ahead but Don/Ash pulled them back with points from Stephen Carton, Dylan Brady and Leo Reilly to finish the first half just 1 point up.
Moynalvey started the more lively in the 2nd half and had 2 points before Don/Ash got points from Simon Wilson and Conor Carton. Moynalvey finished the match with another 2 points from frees while Don/Ash gradually got to grips with the game and Daragh McGovern went through to score a superb goal which killed off the match for the home side. Stephen Carton added to his tally to make it 5 on the night, while James Crumlish put over a lovely free off his left from an acute angle.
Rodney Jones played well at corner back, while David Carr and Conor Carton did enough to keep danger at bay. Overall it was a lack lustre game but Don/Ash were happy to get further points in the competition.
