Ashbourne Award.
MEMBERS of the Donaghmore-Ashbourne GAA 2022 minor football squad were in Navan last week to collect an ‘Ashbourne Municipal District Civic Achievement Award.’
The award came after a successful 2022 where the team won the Division 1 League and Championship double and also the Group B warm-up league.
Collecting the award at Buvinda House were players (from left) Conor McNally, Scott Johnston and Ryan Murphy.
The trio played leading roles on the team, which claimed last year’s Championship trophy at Pairc Tailteann and only lost one game all year.
Coaches Karl O’Kane and Martin Lynch were also in attendance at the Meath County Council event.
The awards night is: ‘To convey appreciation to groups and individuals on their achievements on behalf of Ashbourne Municipal District and the people of County Meath.’
The award was presented by Ashbourne Municipal District Chairperson Amanda Smith, with vice chairperson Alan Tobin also in the picture.
It is a great honour for the team to receive the award on behalf of the club and many thanks to Conor Tormey for the nomination.
